Edward joined ‘Bel Canto Australia’ in 2000, studying classical singing and speech and drama.

In 2004 Edward was chosen for the role of ‘The Herald’ in the Sir Peter Maxwell Davies opera ‘Cinderella’ for the Tasmanian ‘Ten Days on the Island’ festival. In the same year, at the Hobart Eisteddfod, Edward won the ‘Joshua Cooper Memorial Award’ as well as the ‘Australian Verse’ award, and in 2005 won first prize in the City of Clarence Eisteddfod ‘Sacred Song’ section.

Also, at the end of 2005 Edward was selected for the national opera ‘A Mid Summer Opera 2006’ which was produced by Alexander Productions at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, as well as, being chosen for the role of ‘Wombat’ in the forthcoming ‘Bel Canto Australia’ opera ‘Magic Mountain’ which will be performed later in 2006.

Edward is also an accomplished tap, jazz and classical dancer having won several trophies and scholarships.
