Lillie joined Bel Canto Australia in 1999 studying singing, piano and speech and drama. She has achieved high results in Australian Music Examination Board singing and theory examinations and won numerous first place awards in eisteddfods. In 2003 Lillie was chosen to perform in the Bel Canto Young Opera production of the Sir Peter Maxwell Davies opera ‘Cinderella’ which was produced as part of the Tasmanian ‘Ten Days on the Island’ festival. Lillie has been a Bel Canto Australia soloist since 2000 appearing in numerous concerts for charity and community recitals. In 2005 Lillie successfully auditioned for a role in the Alexander Production ‘A Mid Summer Opera’ which had a season of performances at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. In 2006 Lillie was awarded Trinity College London ‘First Concert Certificate’ in singing (distinction). In October 2008 Lillie performed her Debut Recital at Meadowbank Estate and in November the role of ‘Hansel’ from the opera ‘Hansel & Gretel’ by Humperdink for Tasmanian Young Conservatorium. |
